Dan has successfully built and led several teams and organizations through flush times and tough times. As the head of Ryan Companies capital markets group for over two decades, his team has supported Ryan’s exceptional growth by making sure the company’s’ capital needs could be meet over a wide range of product types, geographies, and capital structures. Dan also successfully led the capital markets team during the crises of the Great Recession and the Covid pandemic, ensuring that Ryan’s projects could be capitalized even when equity and debt was scarce.
Dan has also successfully held several leadership roles in non-profit organizations. He is currently treasurer of the 7,000 member Society for American Baseball research, and has held multiple leadership positions within the organization. Among others, he is a past president of the local Minnesota chapter, cochair of the Business of Baseball committee, and heads up a project to create a database of all major league baseball personnel. Dan was also board chair of the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, leading the organization through Great Recession. He is well respected for his leadership, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
